03-05-2020 Forest Board Meeting

 

Present:

Meeting was called to order at 4:02 PM

Motion was made by Terry Lewis, second by Mitch Phelps, to accept the 5 September 2019 meeting minutes as submitted; vote was unanimous.

Communication from Redstart requesting cooperation for stream and river restoration by allowing the removal of root balls from the town forest. The board agreed to allow that work to occur under two conditions:

-any trees to be cut and stumped will be marked by Redstart

-scheduling must be approved by the board prior to initiating any work

David corresponded with Markus Bradley electronically prior to the meeting regarding the marking of trees in Stands 13 and 15. The landing will be off Knox Road but beyond the one which was used last year. The current plan is to continue working with Bruce Limlaw.

David agreed to speak at the AVANGRID annual meeting at the Lake Morey Inn, May 12 and 13. (Post meeting, this has been canceled).

Private mountain bike trail program is a moot issue. Meeting adjourned at 5:10 PM

The next meeting is scheduled for 4:00 PM on Thursday, June 4 in the Grange Room. (Post meeting note, this is tentative and may have to be postponed.)
