Board of Trustees Meeting
Fairlee Library
September 12, 2018

In attendance: Cyrie Lange, Samantha Hickman, Charlotte Williams, Ammie Collins, Joy Weale, Crystal Champagne

1) The meeting was called to order at 7:10 PM by Cyrie Lange.

2) Approval of previous minutes:
Minutes of the July 18th, 2018 meeting were approved
unanimously as written.

3) Librarian’s Report
a.Summer Reading Program was very successful. Samantha has already submitted stats to the state, and we should be getting funding again for next year.
b. Samantha will be taking Thursday the 13th off for a school field trip. Suzanne will cover the library that day.
c. We may need to increase substitute hours next year to cover Samantha’s vacation as well as conference days.
d. We will try closing the library between Christmas and New Year’s, also we will close early on Halloween. These changes will need to be advertised.
e. Ingram the book vendor has increased our discount. They will only ship once per week.
f. New printer installed and is WiFi capable.
g. Craft Night is starting again.
h. Samantha is starting a Dorothy Canfield Fisher Book Group to try to attract more 4th-6th graders.
i. Some teenagers have continued to come in on Thursdays.
j. Samantha has contacted the new preschool SME teacher about bringing the kids
to the library occasionally.
k. We may need to replace the motors in the ceiling fans.
l. Samantha has been in touch with Tad at the town about fixing the parking lot. The town has agreed to make necessary repairs this year. We will research an estimated cost for future paving.
m. Samantha is trying to schedule the annual carpet cleaning for October.
n. The bulkhead has been ordered.
o. We need a new projector for movies. Samantha is shopping around.

4) Treasurer’s Report
Budget printout looks fine. Samantha will check on spending on postage, which looks
low. Lisa will try to meet with Charlotte sometime this year.

5) New Business
The railings need to be sealed. Samantha will get an estimate on a clear seal for all.

6) Next Meeting will be Wednesday October 10th at 7 PM (Meeting adjourned at 8:00 PM).
