Conservation Commission seeks members

Conservation Commission

Fairlee voters recently approved forming a Conservation Commission to protect our town’s natural resources. The Selectboard is charged with appointing the members of the Conservation Commission and is seeking people who might be interested in serving on the commission.

Activities might include inventorying our natural assets, monitoring lake water quality or managing invasive species. A Conservation Commission might host workshops and community events to encourage understanding and appreciation of the local environment such as the hikes and special events put on by our sister town across the river Orford.

Serving on the Conservation Commission offers a valuable opportunity to make a meaningful impact on Fairlee’s future and help ensure that Fairlee remains a vibrant, healthy environment for generations to come. All community members with an interest in conservation, ecology, or public service are encouraged to apply, regardless of previous experience.

Please contact Gene Craft, the Fairlee Town Administrator, at townadministrator@fairleevt.gov with a letter of interest.
