Lance Colby - 2023 Tony Torchia Award Recipient
Lance Colby, Fairlee Chief Water Operator receives top honors as recipient of the 2023 Tony Torchia Award.
The Tony Torchia Award is given to one person each year by the Vermont Rural Water Association at their Annual Conference in recognition of special contribution to the water and/or wastewater fields in Vermont. The award was created by the board of directors in 2001 to honor former Vermont Rural Water Association board member Tony Torchia.
Lance’s father was the Chief Water Operator from 1947 to 2000, thereafter, Lance took over as the Chief Water Operator to present date of 2023, an amazing 76 years of family service to the Town of Fairlee.
