Tuesday May 6th, 2017
Call to order was at 7:02 by Chair Joel Adamson
In attendance: Cyrie Lange, Samantha Hickman, Crystal Champagne, Joel Adamson, Charlotte Williams, Ammie Collins
Minutes of May 9th Meeting were approved.
1) Librarian’s Report
Weeding of adult fiction is ongoing. Three new computers have arrived. We may get one more from the town. Samantha will need to purchase a new computer desk. Parking discussion with Samurai has not happened yet. We have an estimate on the window replacement. Tim Danen feels the library probably will not need to be closed during this project.
Craft Night: for June 15th, Samantha will accept donations for materials.
Samantha on vacation July 1-10 and Oct 31-Nov 4.
Summer Reading Program plans are in progress. This will be held June 27-August 12 excluding Samantha’s vacation.
Community garden idea brought up at selectboard meeting on June 5th. This is in very early planning stages, more likely to happen next year, overseen by Fairlee Gardeners. Selectboard is not opposed to the idea.
Samantha listed upcoming events.
2) Treasurer’s Report
We have a printout from Melissa. Samantha is buying a lot of books. Perhaps Lisa can be asked to send a report automatically each month.
3) Report from 6/5 Selectboard Meeting
Samantha presented our proposal for replacing the bay windows. The board is in agreement with this plan, Their only comment was that Library moneys will be spent on this and will need to reimbursed in future town budgets. Selectboard also wanted to know whether the Library Trustees have any plan for the shed. We have no plan at this point. The Selectboard will add the shed to their planning agenda and will include the Library Trustees in this discussion. On Crystal’s suggestion, The library board will begin to consider revising the “Five-Year Plan” with the hope of writing something up in a few months.
4) Next Trustees Meeting: Tuesday July 11th at 7 PM
Adjournment was at 8:30 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Charlotte Williams
Secretary/Treasurer
