Board of Trustees Meeting

Fairlee Library

Tuesday November 7th, 2017

 

Call to order was at 7:10 by Chair Joel Adamson

In attendance: Cyrie Lange, Samantha Hickman, Joel Adamson, Charlotte Williams, Ammie Collins

Minutes of October 11th Meeting were approved unanimously.

1) Librarian’s Report

Samantha may need to take some time off next week. Substitute and/or volunteer help will cover.
Ideas from conference: story time one Saturday a month for kids and parents; community garden on a small scale next year; Instagram scavenger hunt; new audiobooks, making the library more user-friendly (hooks in bathroom, changing table)
Norwich cataloging refresher course was very helpful.
Lego collection will go in the collection case next.
Alice-in-Wonderland art will come down soon. Samantha may look for another local artist or ask for children’s artwork.
Power washing may have to wait until spring, as the weather is too cold now.
Window measurement work has not been done.
Carpet cleaning will be Monday November 13th. Furniture will be moved on Saturday, with some help from Trustees.
Good stats on attendance for October for patrons as well as programs.
Septic will be pumped soon.

2) Treasurer’s Report Windows need to be done this year if possible. Samantha will call Tim on the 8th. Draft 2018 budget will be on the town agenda Thursday the 9th 6 PM at the Fire Station.

3) Other Business

AED possibility–this is not a requirement, but should we have one? When the draft budget is reviewed, we can ask whether we should add it to the budget.

We might want to host a CPR class.

4) Next Trustees Meeting: Tuesday December 12th at 7 PM.
