Fairlee Library
December 11, 2019

In attendance: Cyrie Lange, Samantha Hickman, Charlotte Williams, Joy Weale

  1. The meeting was called to order at 5:02 PM by Cyrie Lange.
  2. Minutes of October 9th meeting were approved without changes.
  3. Librarian’s Report: —
    –3rd and 4th grade teacher hopes to bring his students on a fairly regular basis. They have already visited twice.
    –2nd Library Director’s Summit: Samantha attended on October 23rd. There are possible new library standards. FPL currently does not receive any state funding except for a few small grants. Samantha spoke to her group about the Luv Co-op. Our first set of temporary DVDs should come in January.
    –October 24th was a Cataloging “Unconference” in Barre. The American Girl doll has not been cataloged yet.
    –Webinar November 13th. Samantha will report statistics for 2018.
    –October events: Glow in the dark story time.
    –Teen program has been discontinued for now due to lack of people in that age group.
    –Christmas tree purchased from Fairlee Feed. A door wreath was donated anonymously.
    –Samantha has put in the order for free items ($60-worth) for the Summer Reading Program.
    –Samantha will be on a panel on Feb 8th at the Bradford Space on Main. She will represent libraries.
    –Library will be open the December 24th 9 to 1 and will be closed December 25 and 26.
    –Door count for October and November is up.
    –Septic cleaning did not occur until November.
    –Samantha will call All-Access to make sure they send their bill ASAP.
  4. Treasurer’s Report: No report back yet from Tad about our 2% decrease budget submission. Paula did 9 hours garden maintenance this year. She recommends replacing the two lilac bushes and adding more mulch next year. Spending as of end of October is as expected except for mileage, which has been overspent.

5) Old Business: Cyrie is working on the 2019 report.

6) New Business: Toilet tends to run. January 6 at 6:30 PM is the Budget Committee Meeting in the Grange Room.

Meeting adjourned at 6:00 PM. Next meeting will be January 8th if it is necessary.
